Barrett and Madelyn instantly connected over their mutual love for the horses. Together, they decided to build a life dedicated to them. The couple, married in 2020, now operates their small stable, Houser Performance Horses, located in the Texas Hill Country. Madelyn began her equestrian journey at the tender age of three, but quickly found inspiration for dressage in 2004. She is an FEI Dressage Rider, and a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist. Barrett’s appreciation for horses stems from his early childhood. In 2016, Barrett purchased his first horse, Smoke, who served as the foundation and inspiration for Barrett’s pursuits in the team roping arena.

Madelyn is the content creator behind The Blonde & The Bay - a creative outlet she founded in 2015 as a space to fully document her adventures alongside her heart horse, Leah. Today, The Blonde & The Bay has grown into a vibrant community of like-minded equestrians. Barrett has equally cultivated an impressive social media audience through his own respective platform. He captures and showcases the western/rodeo lifestyle with storytelling photography and videography. Barrett’s talents have since led him to create for industry leaders such as Smarty Rodeo and Reliance Ranches.

The Housers share their home with their three horses: Leah, Addie, and Boujee, and their three dogs: Beau, Jade, and Blake.
